Word Play ~ Day 2

Hi Stampers,

I have another sample to share with you today that uses the stamp set, Word Play.  I wanted to make a very simple and quick card and here's what I came up with...

Colors used are: Tangerine Tango, Old Olive, Tempting Turquoise and Whisper White.  I also used the circle punch, scallop circle punch and Basic Rhinestones

After I put this card together I wish I would have ran the base of the card through the Big Shot with an embossing folder.  Which embossing folder would you used?

Thanks for stopping by!

Word Play ~ Day 1

Hi Stampers,

Over the next several days I will be sharing with you cards I made using the AWESOME stamp set, Word Play!
An image is worth a thousand words—but these words have quite a bit to say themselves. With some font-tastic emphasis and a few images mixed in, they’ll express your feelings in a big way with maximum meaning on scrapbook pages, cards, tags, and more. Available both in wood-mount $41.95 and clear-mount $28.95.

I have plans of showing you a card sample for each and everyone of the stamps above.  I have a pretty good start as stamped 9 (NINE!!!) cards yesterday!!!  I can't believe I had so much time in my stamp room!!!  Callie Ann took a good nap and Blake was busy with the Wii!

So. . . . here is the first card sample for you.

What do you think?  I love making Onesies and I thought this phrase (So worth the wait) was the perfect fit.  You can see I added two Basic Rhinestones (119246 $4.95) to the card.

After I traced my pattern and cut it out I used my 1-1/4" circle punch to make the leg and neck holes.  Then I used my scallop circle punch and 1-1/4" circle punch to make the scallops.  I also used the new 2-3/8" Scallop circle punch for the center of my card.

Thanks for stopping by and make sure to check back tomorrow for another Word Play sample.

Hi Stampers!

Yesterday I just found out that the first 50 customers to register for the August 14th Stamp Fair will receive a nifty bag from convention!  A few of the demonstrators who attended convention had fun getting them into their bags for the trip home.  I remember the first year I attended convention . . . I bought so much I had to UPS it home!  And last year I had to get a box from SU and I used it as my 2nd check bag on the flight home.  Thank goodness Rocky drove to Chicago to pick me up.  Otherwise it would have been very hard getting myself to the train station and getting home.

Since I didn't attend this year I still wanted to share some pictures with you, so I pulled these from Stampin' Up!'s Facebook page.

Here is a picture of the Memento Mall . . . this is where the bags came from!

Demonstrators are getting a "taste" of new products in the Product Cafe.

This next picture is of the Main Stage area!  This is where the demonstrator gather to hear messages from Shelli Gardner (CEO and Co-founder of SU) and other VIPs.

And another!

And last but not least . . . here is the make and take area!

As of right now I plan on going to convention next year . . . if you'd like to go with me and have a BLAST all you have to do is join the Stampin' Up! family!  Contact me for all of those details!

Just Believe

Hi Stampers,

Just a few days ago Stampin' Up! held their annual convention.  I was able to attend the last two years, but with having a new baby I wasn't able to attend this year.  Each year at convention they prepare make and take projects for the demonstrators to stamp while there.  This year one of the stamp sets they used was, Just Believe!

You are going to love stamping with this set.  Here's a picture of the stamp set.

Abundant with striking silhouettes of blossoms and stems, this set includes a wonderful variety of elements, including greetings and embellished frames, for putting an elegant touch on any kind of project. If you just love floral silhouettes, this truly is a must have for your stamp collection simply for all the possibilities it gives you for creating distinctive accents. Available both in wood-mount and clear-mount.

Since I wasn't able to attend convention I have been web surfing looking at other demonstrator's websites who were there.  Patty Bennett posted some pictures of the make and takes they made, so I decided to case one of them.

Here's my card. . . What do you think?

I used Night of Navy Card Stock, Bashful Blue, Whisper White and Wild Wasabi!  Using my markers I colored the silhouette and then stamped. To finish the card I attached the button with a glue dot.  This week one special customer is going to find this card in her mail box. :o)

If you'd like to order this stamp set just let me know.  Wood Mount is $33.95 and Clear Mount is $25.95.

My Digital Studio!

Hi Stampers,

Do you like the new layout of my blog?  My husband, Rocky, was watching a movie last night and I decided to take that time to play with my blog. :o)

Have you had a chance to play with your copy of the My Digital Studio software???  I haven't played with mine since I made Callie Ann's birth announcements, but last night I decided it was time to make a new blog header and in a few minutes I had one done and ready to add to my blog.

I wanted to use one of the new colors that I downloaded for free in the MDS update from Stampin' Up!

What do you think?  The "stamped" image is from the Upsy Daisy stamp set and the main color is Cajun Craze.  I'd love to see what you are making with your copy of the My Digital Studio . . just send me an e-mail!

Happy Crafting!

Blake's Sign

Hi Stampers,

Today I'd like to share with you a sign Blake made (with a little help from me).  You see Friday and Saturday from 8-Noon we are having a yard sale at our home (789 Jefferson St., Galesburg) and Blake has asked many times to have a lemonade stand.  I thought this would be the perfect time for him to have one without having him sit by the road.

We used a retired alphabet stamp set to stamp the words and the Tart and Tangy stamp set for the lemons.  Of course Blake LOVES the Big Shot so we cranked out a scallop circle and numbers to make the price sign.  I used the bottom of the #5 to make the cents sign and then just glued a little strip of card stock though it.

Here's Blake with his sign and if you're out and about in tomorrow or Saturday stop by and say hi.  I know Blake would love to serve you a glass of lemonade or a cookie!

Have a GREAT day!

Word Play

Hi Stampers,

I hope you all had a wonderful weekend.  Mine was spent camping at the lake with family.  Thank goodness we have AC in the camper, otherwise it would have been way to hot for Callie Ann.

Here are a couple of pictures of the kids this weekend.

As you can guess I didn't have time to stamp this weekend, but I do have a card sample to share with you that uses the stamp set, Word Play.

An image is worth a thousand words—but these words have quite a bit to say themselves. With some font-tastic emphasis and a few images mixed in, they’ll express your feelings in a big way with maximum meaning on scrapbook pages, cards, tags, and more. Available both in wood-mount and clear-mount.

I used markers to color the image at the top, and the builder wheels to create the images above and below the ribbon.

Smooch Pearlized Accent Ink

Hi Stampers,

Have you noticed the new Smooch Pearlized Accent Ink in the catalog???  I love it when Stampin' Up! had new products for us.  You can bet I ordered me a bottle, but I haven't had time to use it yet.  I picked the Silver Fox, which is shown below.

Pearlized accent ink draws attention to your creativity. Simply paint on a lustrous accent anywhere you need it.  I'm thinking it will work great with our stencils and you can also use it with the embossing folders to color in spots you want to accent. . . what do you think?

Callie Ann's Brag Book - Part 2

Hi Stampers,

As I mention yesterday I'm back today to share more pages from Callie Ann's Brag Book.  Also the pages I am sharing with you today use a new embellishment from the Stampin' Up! catalog. . . Basic Rhinestones Jewel Accents 119246 Price: $4.95.

Jewels are just as magical in papercrafting as in fashion. Add a pearl here, a rhinestone there, and your projects take a subtle step up. With our rhinestone basic jewels, it’s easy to add a touch of class to your projects in an instant.

• Small, self-adhesive rhinestones
• 150 rhinestones per package; 50 each of 3 sizes (3 mm, 4 mm, and 5 mm)
• Each package also includes three 2-5/8" strips of connected rhinestones, perfect for borders
Below are a couple of pages from Callie Ann's book.  The first page below is the first page in Callie Ann's book, and the second picture is one of a two page layout.

You'll notice that I just stuck 3 rhinestones here and there to add some bling.

And did you read above that you can also get them in pearls too! :o)

Let me know if you'd like to order some Rhinestones or Pearls!

Enjoy your weekend!

Callie Ann's Brag Book

Hi Stampers,

Today I'd like to share with you a few scrapbook pages from Callie Ann's Brag Book.  (A brag book is a 6x6 scrapbook and you can make it quick so you can "brag" about something.)  Callie Ann's book will be a scrapbook she can look at of family and friends who came to visit her in the first few weeks of her life.  I made one for Blake and enjoy looking at it with him . . . especially since some of the great-grandparents have passed on since his birth.  Having a picture of them holding Blake is a nice way to remember them and teach Blake about his family.

I'm using one of the scrapbook kits from the Stampin' Up! catalog to make Callie Ann's Brag Book.  The first thing I did was take the 12x12 sheets of textured card stock and designer series paper and cut them into 6x6 squares.  (I did this so that I didn't have to cut paper for each page. . . it was already ready!)

I think scrapbooks look nice when you open it up and both pages match, so here's my two page layout.

Below is another simple two page layout

Thanks for stopping by.  If you have questions, please ask and check back tomorrow for a few more pages from Callie Ann's Brag Book.

Rett's Card

Hi Stampers,

A couple of months ago I participated in a Demonstrator Business Builder Program though Stampin' Up!  I was assigned a personal trainer from Stampin' Up! to help build my business and his name was Rett.

Rett would sent me training e-mails as well as call me to see how I was doing with my business.  He had great ideas, and even though my training has ended we still keep in contact.

I shared with you the announcement I made using My Digital Studio to announce Callie Ann's birth, and I also shared it with Rett.

Well a few days ago I received a card in the mail from Rett.  How sweet is that?  Today I'd like to share that card with you.

I think it would be awesome to work at Stampin' Up!'s home office  . . . the people seem so loving.  Thanks for the awesome card Rett and thanks for caring!

Have a GREAT day and I hope you find a little time to get some ink on your fingers.

Sweet Scoops

Hi Stampers,

Have you looked at the Summer Mini Catalog lately???  Well Sweet Scoops is one of the stamp sets you can find in there, and it is also the stamp set I decided to use today.

Do you like the "texture" at the bottom of the card?  I did that using my crimper.  The paper crimper is one of those tools I have not had out for a while, and I'm glad I pulled it out for this card.  I think it really adds to the card. . . what do you think?

You can find the Crimper on page 198 of the new catalog.  It is $19.95 and worth every penny!

If you have any questions, or if you'd like to order the Crimper, please let me know!

Happy Stamping!

Because I Care

Hi Stamper,

Today I'd like to share with you another card I made using the Level 1 Hostess stamp set, Because I Care.

When I was making this card I had 3 things I wanted to do.  The first thing was to use the new stamp set, Because I Care.   The second thing was to use new color card stock, so I picked Daffodil Delight and Early Espresso.  And the third thing I wanted to do was to keep it simple, so I decided just to do a few layers and skip the embellishments.

So here is my New Stamp Set, New Color and Very Simple Card. . .

What do you think?

Thanks for stopping by, and let me know if you'd like to get this stamp set for free by having a workshop!

I hope you all had a wonderful and safe 4th of July weekend.  We spent a lot of time outside playing in the yard and we saw fireworks both Saturday and Sunday night and Blake LOVED it and Callie Ann slept, which was GREAT!  I really feel we made some great memories with Blake this weekend. . . especially when he and daddy slept outside in the tent Friday night. :o)

I did get a picture of the kids this weekend.  I can't believe Callie Ann is 1 month old already!  I need to start on her scrapbook!!!
