2009 Calendar

Happy New Years!!!

2009 is almost here . . . are you ready? Now that I have my new stamping station sat up I had some time to alter my 2009 calendar. I used some designer paper from the I Wish scrapbook kit and a couple of the stickers from the same scrapbook kit to alter the calendar I got from WalMart.

The stamp, Happiness is Stampin' Up!, is retired. Sorry!

You can also see I used my round tab punch to mark each month in my calendar. I decided to use Old Olive card stock to match the designer paper.

A Peak into my Stamp Room!

Hello Stampers!

I am very excited today to show you my stamping space. As you may know I've been working on cleaning it all weekend. Yesterday I received a call from my sitter and Blake had a temp and had to come home. While he was napping I finished cleaning off my desk and putting most of my stamping stuff away.

While I'm sure you're not surprise to hear I have a small pile of stuff in one (OK two) corners of the stamp room the majority of my room is CLEAN!!! I can't wait to start stamping with some of the new sets I received for Christmas!

Now I'm sure you'd like a little peak into my stamp room . . right? If you said yes, which I hope you did, please keep scrolling down for a few photos!

This is my new computer/stamping desk! It is actually an extra cubicle that was just setting empty at my "real job", so I asked if they wanted to part with it. I'm sure you can tell what their answer was.

Of course I had to put a few decorations on the wall. Above you can see my Big Shot Stamp Banner I made as well as my Big Shot. You can also see I have my SU banner also hanging on the wall.

In one of the cabinet drawers I have my current SU stamps. Notice the hearts on some of the boxes. I mark the SU sets I earn for FREE! Anyone can earn sets for free. All you have to do is join the SU family and then you can earn free sets and accessories through different events SU and I hold throughout the year!

I have most of my extra supplies in this nice cabinet I got from Target a few years ago.

And I use a over the door shoe rack, I got from WalMart to store my punches.

Oh. . . I almost forgot my card stock is stored in hanging folders in one of the drawers under the desk. This way it is close at hand.

Thanks for taking some time today to peek into my stamp room. I'd love to see some pictures of your stamping area.

Happy Stamping!

Doodle This

Hello Stampers and Happy Monday!

I hope you are had a wonderful weekend and I'm sure most of you have been busy finding a home for all of the Christmas gifts you received from your family and friends. At least that is what has been happening at my house.

Besides that I have been very busy organizing my stamp room. (Britni make sure you tell Justin!) I was lucky enough to bring home an extra cubicle I had at work. When I get my stamp room organized I'll be sure to post a few photos.

Now that I have a cubicle in my office at home I have an extra computer desk I'm getting rid of. . . if you need a desk, please send me an e-mail to georgia@mustainlindstrom.com.

So as you might guess I've had zero time for stamping this weekend. Rocky and his friend Tony moved the cubicle home on Saturday and I've been busy ever since then trying to clean and get organized.

For the sample today I dived into the archives on my computer and found a wonderful sample a fellow stamper (Julia J.) had at the August 2007 StampAttic's meeting, and I just knew I needed to share it with you.

Julia used the stamp set Doodle This (108391 $31.95) and the greeting comes from the stamp set Warm Words (107123 $20.95). Please note the stamp set Warm Words is on the dormant list, which can be viewed on the right side of this page.

You can't tell from this photo, but Julia used a Pop Up Glue Dot covered in Micro Beads for the center of the flower. This is a very simple technique that is sure to get a WOW when you see it. If you'd like to see this technique in person, just give me a call! I'd love to demo it for you.

Thanks for stopping by on your blog journeys today and I hope you have a wonderful Monday!

I don't have much time today, so if you have any questions, please ask!

Punch Fun

Hello Stampers,

Merry Christmas. Today's post will be short so you can spend more time with your family!

Sometimes it's hard to think outside the box, so today's post will hopefully help you do just that. It relates to SU's punches and some of the fun things you can create with them!

I snapped this photo back in 2007 while in Bloomington helping Kathy V. and Kathy T. at the Stamp Fair. All of these cute animals were made by using punches and just playing around a bit.

Thanks for taking time to stop by today and Happy Holidays!!!

New Years

Hello Stampers,

Rocky and I have decided to have a small get together with some of the people we work to break in the New Year. Last year we were in bed by 10:30pm. Of course, I needed to stamp some invitations for our little party.

I thought Kiwi Kiss and Pacific Point would be fun colors to put together since they are both in colors. I also used a bit of Whisper White to make it pop.

Stamp sets used are Celebrate Everything, Holidays & Wishes, Eastern Blooms and Occasions Collection. AND. . . of course I had to break out my Big Shot and Top Note Die. I also used my heat tool and embossed the Celebrate New Year and wine glasses on the front of the card. Below is a close up so you can see the little wine glasses from the Occasions Collection Stamp Set.

The last thing I did was put two silver brads in the top left corner and stamped envelopes to match. What do you think?

Thanks for stopping by on this Christmas Eve, and I hope you have a Wonderful Holiday Season!

Tattoo Kits

Hello Stampers,

Today I want to show you the Tattoo Kits. If you have a catalog they can be found on page 194. Otherwise you can find them on my online store. Just go to http://www.georgiacaulkins.stampinup.net/ and click the shop now link. The kits run $13.95 and I've posted a photo below for you to see how they come packaged.
The tattoo kits are acid free and nontoxic. Each kit comes with 6 stamps, 6 markers and 1 ink pad. I have the Tattoo Kit 1 because it's geared more towards boys, while the Tattoo Kit 2 is more for girls.

My son, Blake, LOVES the Tattoo kit, and I'm finding that it's a wonderful reward system! They are so quick and easy that Blake likes to try to do them himself.

Blake chose the sail boat, and the one that you can see in the photo below is the one I stamped and colored. You can see that Blake is working very hard to color in the sail boat that he stamped on his right hand.

The final thing I want to mention is to make sure the tattoo is dry before allowing clothing to touch it. The tattoo will last about 24 hours. It will also fade when you wash your hands.

Thanks for stopping by!

Christ Is Born

Hello Stampers,

Are you ready for Christmas? I am far from it. I have so many presents I'd still like to make, and so little time. Today share is meant to inspire you to make a gift this year and it won't take long to create.

I snapped a photo of this project at my UP-UP-Up-UpLine's (Julie S.) house.

I didn't have a chance to ask her if she made it or received it as a gift. From what I can tell the stamper embossed Christ is Born (111612-$20.95) with Black Embossing Powder and placed it inside this small photo frame. The she just used a bit of Whisper White Taffeta Ribbon (109070-$6.95) to tie around the edge.

And that's it! Talk about a simple but awesome gift to give, or receive.

Happy Holidays!

Post-It Note Key Chain

Hello Stampers!

I am very excited because I had some time to stamp for FUN! OK kinda for fun. I have a 6/$25 club and each month they make a few 3D projects. Today's share is one of the projects they got to make last night. I had so much fun making this and it's so easy that you could crank out a lot in a little time. I'm sure everyone loves monogram items. . . right? Well my sample today is a . . .

Monogram Post-It Note Key Chain!

And Here's the inside!

I used the 1-1/2" x 2" post it note, but you can use any size if you adjust the size of card stock. The Riding Hood Red card stock is 2" x 3-1/4" and scored at 1 -9/16" and 1-11/16". I took my Riding Hood Red ink pad and applied color directly to the card stock, because I wanted it to have a bit of additional background color.

I also used a bit of Pink Pirouette card stock and my 1/8" circle punch on each scallop. Other punches used were:1-1/4:, 1-3/8" and Scallop Circle Punch.

You'll need to divide the post-it note into 3 smaller pads. (Meaning for each post it note you can make 3 key chains.) This is necessary so that your crop-a-dile can slide over and punch a hole for the key chain.

I used the Lovely Letters (111099 $40.95) stamp set shown on page 158 of the catalog. It's such an elegant stamp set. I think it would be the perfect stamp set for someone wanting to stamp their own wedding napkins or thank you cards.

I finished it off buy tying a bit of Riding Hood Red Stripped ribbon onto the key chain, which I found at WalMart. They key chain that is. . the ribbon is Stampin' Up! . . of course! :o)

Thanks for stopping and have a GREAT Weekend!

Punch Pals

Hello Stampers,

I have a very quick post today. It's another card that I took a photo of at convention. This card uses the stamp set Punch Pals(109489 $31.95).

I love how the stamper tore the card stock and then used a sponge on the torn edge to add color. Like I said. . . a real quick post, so if you have any questions, please ask!

Thanks for stopping by and Happy Holidays!

A Note from Shelli

**Double Post Day**
Make sure to keep scrolling down for today's sample!

Hello Stampers!

Each month Stampin' Up! send each demonstrator a free magazine called Stampin' Success and in each issue there is a note from Shelli Gardner, CEO of Stampin' Up!

I wanted to share this today, because I have talked with a few of you who are unsure if they want to join Stampin' Up! After you have a chance to read this I hope you decide to join the family. I had a chance to meet Shelli at convention and in the few minutes I met with her I could tell she really care about the people around her including her demonstrator family.

A Note from Shelli:

At convention this year, I shared some thoughts on something that I feel very strongly about—our hobbyist demonstrators. I’d like to mention those thoughts for those of you who were unable to be there.

The catalyst for this was an experience that one of our staff members shared with me as she spoke to two demonstrators, one of whom commented that she was “a hobbyist, the kind of demonstrator Stampin’ Up! hates” while the other demonstrator observed that she was “just a hobbyist.”

When I heard this, my reaction was immediate and strong—I want to eliminate the phrase “just a hobbyist” from our vocabulary! A demonstrator who is not focused on building her business is no more “just a hobbyist” than a mother is “just a mother.” You cannot overestimate or underestimate the influence and power mothers have on the world. By the same token, we don’t want our hobbyists to underestimate their impact on Stampin’ Up!

Of course, there is room for our business builders—we love them! They play an essential role in our growth, stability, and success. By very virtue of our business model, we must—and want to—provide our business builders with everything they need to build their businesses. And that means there is a lot of information on our web site and in our publications aimed at these demonstrators.

But that doesn’t mean we value them more; it means they need more resources. And, in fact, a vast majority of our business builders began as hobbyists and then transitioned into leaders and business builders when the time and opportunity was right.

The bottom line is, there is room at Stampin’ Up! for every kind of demonstrator—that’s the beauty of what we offer and that’s how we differ from many other network marketing companies. I felt strongly about it at the very beginning, and I continue to feel just as strongly
20 years later!

It breaks my heart that any of you—hobbyist, business builder, or anywhere in between—might feel that we don’t care about you. Every single one of you have a home here at Stampin’ Up! and are a valued family member. We need you, we want you, we respect and value you. We love you all!

Wrapping Your Presents

Hello Stampers,

Now that we are 1 week away from Christmas it's time to start wrapping all of the presents you got on Black Friday. I'm sure some of you are really good and everything is wrapped and under the tree, but if you're like me you still have some wrapping left to do.

My upline Kathy made the cutest little bag, that I just had to share with you.

Kathy used a sheet of paper from the Ski Slope Designer Series Paper (112994 $9.95) and some of the Felt Flurries from the mini catalog and a few Rhinestone Brad to hold them in place. She finished the bag with Double Stitched Ribbon, and she had a beautiful package to deliver.

Have fun and be creative when you wrap your holiday packages!

Jolliest Time of the Year

Hello Stampers!

Do you have your Christmas cards done and in the mail? I have been working on mine and sending them out batch by batch, but I still need to send some more. Today's samples are Christmas cards, just in case you need some last minute inspiration.

The stamp set used in each card is Jolliest Time of the Year (109504 $19.95). Please note that I didn't make these cards. There were either on display at convention, or I received them in a swap at convention.

Can you see the dazzling diamonds in the card above. Nice touch!!

I love how they used the round tab punch and stamped Christmas on it.

This stamper did a great job free cutting the layers behind the snowman. Love it!

So if you don't have your Christmas card done yet you better get stamping! Only 8 days until Christmas . . . OMGoodness. . . I have nothing wrapped yet!!!

Happy Holidays!

Pun Fun

Hello Stampers!

Today's sample used the stamp set Pun Fun. I just love this stamp set, and I'm so excited that is it NOT on the retired list. That means I can keep demoing and playing with it. :o) I have made lots of cards using this set, but the sample today comes from a photo I took at Convention. Convention was so much fun and I'd love to take you with me next year! All you need to do is become a demonstrator and then the fun will being! :o)

The images in Pun Fun are so fun to color in, and with Stampin' Up! you have many choices on how to color them in like: Markers, Ink Pads with Aqua Painters, Stampin' Pastels with or without blender pens or even Water Color Pencils with or without Blender Pens. If you would like to learn how to color using any of these items, please ask!

Big Shot Banner

Hello Stampers and Happy Monday to you!

I hope you all enjoyed your weekend and are refreshed enough to start another week. Mondays are one thing that does not wait, so ready or not it's here!!!

I did have a wonderful weekend that included both Family Time and STAMPING!!! What more could a gal want?

Saturday night I had a holiday party to attend, where I also got to Stamp! Talk about fun! I made 2 cards, framed art and another Big Shot banner. This banner is one I plan on hanging in my stamp room. The designer paper is called Haiku (112470 $9.95).

Below is a close up of the S. I thought you might enjoy seeing more details. :o)

I was inspired by the banner Julie S. made, shown below.

Cute & Curly Bundle/Big Shot!!!

Hello Stampers!

I am very VERY excited about today's card sample. That is because it is a 100% original design by ME!!! I just knew as soon as I got the Top Note Bigz Die for my Big Shot that I wanted to make a card that also used the punch from the Cute & Curly Bundle. It just took me awhile to get around to it. :o)

What do you think? The flash washed out the strips in the Pink Pirouette Stripped Ribbon, but besides that the photo took well. The stamp and punch is from the Cute & Curly Bundle.

I just love using Pink Pirouette and Riding Hood Red card stock together, and of course I needed just a scrap of Whisper White to stamp and punch on. The only ink I used was Riding Hood Red.

Before assembling the card I used the Boho Blossom's punch and a gold brad. The Whisper White Card Stock has 2 Stampin’ Dimensional under it to make it pop up.

Have a GREAT Day and thanks for stopping!

Photo Corner Punch Tree

Hello Stampers!

Are you looking for new ways to use your punches? If so, today's sample is for you. I took this photo at convention of a Christmas card. The creator of this card used the Photo Corner Punch to make the Christmas Tree. Pretty neat! She also used the Heard from the Heart stamp set.

I love how the glitter makes the Whisper White card stock look like snow. It also looks like she used the small oval punch for the tree trunk. How creative!

Have you done something neat with punches? I'd love to see it. Send it to me in an e-mail.

Happy Stamping!

Big Birthday Candle

Hello Stampers!

Have you had a chance to look at the retirement list yet? I'm very excited about the 10% off and FREE shipping promotion that is running right now. If you haven't seen the list yet, please scroll down to yesterday's post and check it out.

One of the stamp sets that caught my eye on the list is the Big Birthday Candle stamp set. This set is on the dormant list. To view all of the sets on the dormant list click the link at the right side of this page.

At convention I received a swap from my fellow StampAttic's member Julie V. She used the stamp set Big Birthday Candle (111169 $20.66 sale price).

I just love how Julie tucked the Whisper White 1/4" grosgrain ribbon under the card stock on the left side of the page. It's hard to tell that is ribbon, but trust me it is. :o)

Thanks for stopping!

Punches Three - Level 1 Hostess Set

Good Morning Stampers!

Today's sample was very fun to make. It's a 3x3 card. I used the Level 1 Hostess ONLY stamp set: Punches Three. First I stamped the image in Night of Navy on Whisper White Card Stock. Then I stamped the sampe image in Old Olive.

Punch out both images using your Scallop Square Punch and then cut out away the top and bottom of the Old Olive image. I used my Snail adhesive to adhere it on top of the Night of Navy image, but you could also use Stampin' Dimenstionals if you wanted the image to "pop" out.

I finished the card by using my Scallop Edge Punch along the bottom edge of a piece of designer paper I had left over from one of the I Wish Scrapbook Kits.

This 3x3 card is a perfect Just Because card for a special friend.

Thanks for stopping by today!

Sneak Peak Monday

Hello Stampers. . .

Are you aware that the Fall/Winter 2008 Catalog is quickly coming to an end? Now is the time to host that last workshop, have a catalog party, or place that last order to get all of the hostess only stamp sets you want before it's to late and they are gone for ever. January 18th is the Magic Date!!!

As you know with the retirement of the old hostess sets that will leave room for NEW Hostess ONLY stamp sets and you can be one of the first to get them for FREE when you schedule your workshop with me. I have my 2009 catalog and I'm ready to book your party. So call (309/343-9356) or e-mail me (georgia@mustainlindstrom.com) today!

Now you have two party options. 2008 Fall/Winter, 2009 Spring/Summer or Both!

I'm sure you'd love to see all of the new level 2 and 3 hostess only stamp sets right? Well the easiest way to see and even preorder one from each category is to join my Stampin' Up! family by becoming a demonstrator. The Stampin' Up! Starter Kit cost $199. The retail value of products and business supplies are more than $335.00, so you are getting quite a deal!

The best thing about being a demonstrator is that you are your own boss. Don't want to work weekends? That's OK. . you don't have to because you set your own schedule! Don't want to travel? That's OK, because you set your own events, so you don't have to travel if you don't want! Trust me being a demonstrator is very fun and rewarding. How rewarding . . . 20% (instant income) rewarding with the chance to earn an additional 20% based on your sales. . . so that's up to 40% income on what you sale, plus great rewards and incentive trips.

People often ask what the requirements are. The only requirement, to stay active with Stampin' Up!, is to have $300 in sales a quarter. There are no yearly renewal fees or hidden charges. . . just $300 in sales a quarter. If you have one show a month which reaches the first hostess level of $150 you can easily stay active. Some demonstrators easily purchase enough and/or only sell to close friends to make the reach minimum sales amount.

I have a Challenge for you! Grab your purse and take out your check book. Now total all of the checks in the past three months that are payable to Me! How much do you get? Are you close to $300. I know some of you ladies are close to or even over that amount.

Tired of paying full price? Think about it this way . . can you commit one night a month in order to NEVER pay full price on stamps and supplies again? You don't even have to commit one night a month. You do the math based upon the time you have and determine how much you'd have to work. However, I can hardly call stamping working, because it's something I love. And it's something I have fun doing and you will too.

Trust me you don't have to be perfect, and I'll be there to help you when you need me. . . . OK are you ready for a "Georgia Story". . . .Talk about not being perfect! At my last workshop I forgot my markers, ribbon scissors and paper cutter. I was to use one item on each of the 3 projects, so every project I pulled out I was like guess what I forgot! :o)

However I made it through! SU's ink pads are raised, so used the raised edge against the rubber instead of the markers that were sitting on my desk at home. My paper snips are pretty dull from being used almost daily for the past 3 years, but I got the ribbon cut. . . and THANK GOODNESS the hostess had a paper cutter as I almost never cut the make and take card stock until the party starts. I like to show how easy it is to cut the card stock. . . trust me this one was frustrating, because I specifically remember thinking I need to remember to put my paper cutter in my bag after I cut the card stock for my #2 project (aka project missing the ribbon scissors). . . what's the moral of the story. . . roll with the punches . . . simile . . . laugh and all will be fine!

Joining Stampin' Up! is easier than ever, because it's something you can do online! Click HERE to go to my website. There are a few videos you can watch to learn more and when you're ready please contact me directly for my recruiter password.

I know not everyone will join my family today, although I hope a few e-mail me with interest, question(s) or to get my password so that they and join online.

So you may notice the title above this long blog (btw . . thanks for reading this far) . . . Sneak Peak Monday! Today's samples were made using the level 2 hostess only stamp set A Little Somethin'.

What do you think? If you like me you gotta have it! BTW . . see the heart on the envelope? It was not cut out. It was punched out. . .yes I said Punch and it will be in the new catalog, and I'm just gonna have to get it. How about you?

Thanks for stopping by today!
