Blake's Friend Party Invite!

Hi Stampers,

Today I'd like to share with you the invites I made for Blake's 4th birthday.  These invites are for Blake's friend party.  Since the theme was Pirates I went with a retired stamp set, Ahoy Matey, but everything else is current.

For the inside of the card I printed a little something on my computer using Whisper White card stock.

I am going to put them in our Clear Envelopes and add a couple of gold coins.  This way I hope to create more excitement for Blake when he passes them out at preschool. :o)

If you have any questions, or would like help designing that perfect invite, please ask!

Happy Stamping!

Cheers Card

Hi Stampers,

Boy this week has been a busy one . . . I'm sure life will slow down one day . . . right? :o)  Yesterday, on my lunch break, I finished designing Blake's birthday invites for his friends party.  This is the first year we are having a friends party and I am not sure who is more excited . . . me or Blake!  With preschool having spring break the first week in April I have to have all of the invites stamped and ready to go by Thursday!  Between prep work, two workshops this past week, family fun night at preschool and getting my basket swap all ready for the StampAttic's meeting on Saturday life has been crazy.

I am very please to announce that after Blake went to bed last night I got all of his invites stamped, and I only need to tie some hemp twine on them and print the inside before they are done.  Blake has been getting up early, so I am pretty sure I'll be able to finish them today before I head to the office.  I hope to get them done and share with you tomorrow.

Speaking of Blake's birthday party I do still need to design and stamp the invites for his family party.  The theme this year for both parties is pirates, so I ordered the Pirate Party kit from the catalog.  I plan on somehow using the invites that came with the kit for the family party, but I want to add to them.  My friend, Julia, was nice enough to let me borrow her retired stamp set, Ahoy Matey, so I have a cute little pirate to go with them.

Make sure to check back tomorrow for a picture of Blake's friends invite. . . until then I have a card sample to share with you from the Stampin' Up! website.

This card was designed by Diana Gibbs who was one of the Artisan Award winners this year.  All of the supplies Diana used are listed below:

Chipboard Card Totes ("Card Purses") ~ Directions

Hi Stampers,

Today I'd like to share with you how I make the cute little card purses that all of my Sale-a-bration hostess received this month.  The two shown today were made for Dawn and Emily.  I forgot to take a picture of them after I put their names on the outside of them.  Actually Dawn got her name and Emily got her initials.  You see Dawn is getting married, and I didn't want her to have the wrong initials after her October wedding, so I just did her whole first name.  :o)

OK here's what you need to make your Chipboard Card Tote:

Chipboard:
Sides 5" x 7 1/2" (need two)
Bottom 2" x 7 1/2"

Card Stock:
Divider 4" x 7 3/4" (score at 1/4" on both ends)
Bottom 2" x 7 1/2" (could also be cut from Designer Paper)
Inside 7 1/2" x 12 (score at 5" & 7")

Designer Series Paper (DSP):
Sides 5" x 7 1/2" (need two)
Gusset 4" x 6" (need two; and could also be cut from card stock)

10" Ribbon for Handles and Hemp Twine for Closure.

Directions:
  1. Cut and score all card stock and DSP as listed above.
  2. Glue the side DSP to the chip board. (I used the Multipurpose Tombo Liquid Glue.)
  3. Decorate front side of the chipboard tote.
  4. Punch a hole, with your Crop-a-dile for the brad to fit in, and add brad.
  5. Attach handles and closing strap to inside of sides using sticky strip.
  6. Attach decorated sides and bottom to the inside piece of card stock, which is 7 1/2" x 12".
  7. Fold Gusset sat each 3/4" mark that you scored.
  8. Attach Divider to both Gussets. (Since I was using a liquid glue for this step I used binder clips to hold it in place until it dried.)
  9. Attach Gussets to the front and back of the card tote. (I used sticky strip.)
  10. Congrats . . . You're done!
Just a reminder . . . Sale-a-bration ends March 31st, but if you'd like to place a $150 order before then you will received hostess benefits in the amount of $15 in free merchandise and a level 1 hostess ONLY stamp set and Stampin' Up! will give you THREE Sale-a-bration products for FREE!!! PLUS I will make you a card purse to keep your card creations.

A special Thank You needs to go out to my up-up line leader, Julie.  Julie was kind enough to share with me how to make this fun project . . . Thanks Julie!

And Thank You for stopping by today!  Let me know if you have any questions.

Kiri & Brian's Baby Bag!

Hi Stampers,

This past weekend my sister-in-law, Kiri, and mother-in-law, Stacey, came by to make a baby bag for Kiri as she is expecting her second baby this Fall.  While it was quite a challenge it did get done.  I felt so bad for Kiri as she didn't have much sewing experience.

Here are a few pictures from the sewing day.

Extra help came when Kiri's husband, Brian, showed up with his sewing machine.

Here's a picture with the finished bag.

Inspired by Nature!

Hi Stampers,

Last night Rocky and Blake went to play basketball, which left me home all alone to stamp!!!  I just knew I wanted to do a "Spring" card, so I dug out Inspired by Nature and got stamping!

I wanted to keep this card quick and simple, but I also knew I wanted to use Crystal Effects and Dazzling Diamonds. . here's a close up of the "bling" . . . I put it on thick so it will take a little while to dry.

And now the whole card.

Again with the live with passion on the left.

For color on this card I used Whisper White, Rich Razzleberry, Old Olive and Soft Suede.  I ran my Whisper White card stock through my Big Shot using the Top Note Bigz Die.  Then using my markers I colored directly onto the rubber of my stamp and stamped onto the Whisper White card stock. (Don't forget to huff on your rubber before you stamp.)

After my card was assembled I used a Mini Glue dot to attach the Rich Razzleberry Polka-dot Ribbon which was just tied in knot and used Crystal Effects and Dazzling Diamonds on the flowers.

Like I said. . . quick and simple, but so fun and pretty!

Thanks for stopping by today and make sure to stop back tomorrow as I have another fabric project to share with you.

Happy Stamping!

Happy Moments

Hi Stampers,

Today I'd like to share with you a card we made at Dawn's workshop yesterday . . . it uses a few Sale-a-bration products that you can get for free until the end of the month.

For this card I used the Sale-a-bration stamp set, Happy Moments, Designer Series Paper Pad, Welcome Neighbor, and the Scallop Trim Border punch!  Beside the Sale-a-bration products I used Whisper White card stock, Basic Black classic ink, Two-Way Glue Pen and Dazzling Diamonds.

To get the different colored packages I stamped in Basic Black ink onto designer paper.  Then I cut out each package and attached them to the whisper white card stock.

If you have any questions . . .  please ask!

Chalkboard Decorative Sign

Hi Stampers. . .

What did everyone think of the 1st day of Spring?  Not how I had pictured spring. . . I'm not sure how much snow fell yesterday and overnight, but the ground is while.  Rocky just took down the Christmas lights on Friday night, but now we have snow again they could have been on. (just kidding . . . it was way past time for them to come down.)

Today I'd like to share with you a new Decor Element that is in my kitchen.  Have you seen the new catalog for them???  It's awesome!  One of the things I love is the chalkboard signs and I finally had a chance to put mine up.

I purchased the small Decorative Sign (119664 $14.95) and decided to mount it in the kitchen over the wallpaper.  I wasn't sure how it would stick, but it worked perfect!

First let me show you how it looks up and then I'll show you the couple of steps it took to get to that point.  This first picture is from the Stampin' Up! catalog.

Now when you get this chalkboard you'll need to cut out of the sheet it comes on as it is in three pieces.

Then I decided to tape it into place to make sure it was where I wanted it to go. (Please note this is BEFORE you remove any paper.

Next using a level (to make sure it was straight) I applied the first piece.

Then the next.

And the last piece.

All and all it was very simple to put up once I decided where to hang it at.

If you have any questions, please ask and thank you for stopping by!!!

Thoughts & Prayers ~ Sympathy Cards

Hi Stampers,

Recently, I have been wanting to make some sympathy cards.  Since I didn't have a stash of them already made up I decided to use the stamp set Thoughts & Prayers and cranked out 20 of these cards in no time flat.

Of course I had to stamp Very Vanilla envelopes to match!  The base of the card is Chocolate Chip and layered on top of that is Very Vanilla and Old Olive card stock.  I kept the card simple by using my Eyelet boarder punch along the bottom of the Very Vanilla card stock and just layering that over my Old Olive.  The 5/8" Chocolate Chip Ribbon is just knotted in the middle and tucked around the Very Vanilla.  I'm sure you can guess the ink I used. . . . Yes, it was Chocolate Chip!

I forgot to take a picture of the inside, but since the card stock was so dark to write on I took a piece of Very Vanilla card stock, stamped the tree in the corner (like the envelope) and attached that to the inside.

Are you wondering why I needed so many sympathy cards???  Many times, when a beloved pet passes away at a veterinarian's office the staff will sign a card and send it to the family.  While I've been lucky enough not to find out if my particular vet's office sends out cards I figure there will be a time when I find that out. :o(

Rocky and I got our two dogs when they were puppies almost 10 years ago, and you can tell their age is starting to creep up on them.  Below are pictures of our doggies. . . . Hercules and Elizabeth!

If you have any questions, please ask!  Thanks for stopping by today!
Georgia

p.s. Club orders are IN and ready to be picked up!!!

BTW - I almost forgot to share the best part of the story with you . . . I was only able to send my vet 19 of the 20 cards, because Elizabeth got one off of the table, while we were sleeping, and "ate" it.  She did leave the ribbon and part of the tree, but the rest of the card has yet to be found. . . I'm pretty sure it will end up in the backyard in a pile of something. (Icky!)  :o)

Simply Adorned

Hi Stampers,

Yesterday I shared with you a Friend Charm, well today I wanted to share more with you regarding the Simply Adorned line.

Our Simply Adorned line beautifully combines the best of two worlds: stamping and jewelry! We designed our Simply Adorned charms to hold a creation you design yourself, making your jewelry truly unique.

Simply Adorned charms are lockets--they open up so you can insert your custom stamped image. The Charming stamp set, along with Rub-Ons, glitter, ribbons, and other embellishments, can help you create your unique charm insert. And don’t forget that you can embellish the chains with ribbon, felt flowers . . . the possibilities are endless! The frame surrounds tempered beveled glass on the front and flat glass on the back. Because there’s glass on both sides of the charm, you can display an image on one side or both. You can create a custom heirloom piece that you’ll never want to change, or you can swap artwork in and out, depending on your mood and your wardrobe.

And although we designed Simply Adorned charms to be jewelry, they also make delightful key chains or Christmas tree ornaments. Insert a stamped image or photo of your loved ones, tie a ribbon through the clasp, and you’re done!

Paper-crafters and noncrafters alike--will love the look of Simply Adorned and appreciate how easy it is to create custom jewelry.  Our Simply Adorned line includes nickel-plated charms in three sizes and anodized stainless steel chains in two lengths.

116797 Simply Adorned 1" x 1" Square charm $17.95
116798 Simply Adorned 1" x 1-1/4" Rectangle charm $18.95
116799 Simply Adorned 1-1/2" x 2" Rectangle charm $21.95
117349 Simply Adorned 5/8" Circle charm $8.95
118476 Simply Adorned 5/8" Square charm $8.95

Download the Simply Adorned Flyer

FAQs
Q: What size are the charms?
A: The charms are available in three different sizes: 1" x 1", 1" x 1-1/4", and 1-1/2" x 2". The size listed refers to the charm insert; the metal frame around the insert is slightly larger. You can use the included insert as a template to create the perfect-sized piece of artwork for your frame. It is important that your insert matches the insert template exactly. The hinge on your charm can break if your insert is too large and overlaps onto the frame.

Q: Is the toggle clasp meant to be worn in the front or the back?
A: Our stainless steel chain features a toggle clasp and includes an exclusive Stampin’ Up! charm identifier. The beautiful leaf charm is designed to be worn on the front to enhance the overall design of the necklace, or worn on the back for a simpler look.

Q: What materials are used to make Simply Adorned jewelry?
A: The charms are nickel-plated zinc alloy with tempered beveled glass on the front, and tempered flat glass in the back. The chains are anodized stainless steel with a nickel-plated zinc alloy charm and toggle.

Q: How do I clean my charm?
A: Use clean water and a cotton applicator to clean the jewelry surface. Do not use alcohol or other chemicals to clean your jewelry as they will damage the finish.

Q: How many layers can I fit inside the charm?
A: The number of layers that fit inside each charm depends on the type of materials used. The space in the charm is 2 mm; as card stock, Designer Series paper, ribbon, and adhesives all differ in thickness, it is difficult to specify the number of layers that will fit inside. It is important to remember that you can break the hinge on your charm if your inserts are too thick. Never force the charm closed. If the charm does not close easily, remove a layer or two from your insert and try again.

Q: How is the jewelry packaged?
A: Each piece comes in a Chocolate Chip box (box for charms: 3-1/4" x 2-1/2" x 1"; box for chains: 9-1/2" x 2-1/2" x 1").

Cards for Tara!

Hi Stampers,

Today I'd like to share with you some cards I made for my friend Tara.  At the beginning of this year Tara's husband, Adam, was diagnosed with Hodgkin’s Lymphoma on the heels of a lengthy battle with Kidney failure for the last 2 years.

I thought it would be nice to make some thank you cards the family could use, so I googled the ribbon of hope color for Hodgkin's Lymphoma and found the color.

For this card I used the Ribbon of Hope and Thank You Kindly stamp sets.  Using crystal effects and dazzling diamonds I gave the ribbon a little sparkle.  I also used the Wide Oval punch and the Scallop Trim Boarder punch from the Sale-a-bration catalog.

Of course I had to stamp envelopes to match and packaged them in a cello bag.

On March 27th they are having a benefit for Tara's husband from 5:00pm - 10:00pm at the VFW in Monmouth.  Tickets are $5.  Hope to see you there!

Vintage Vogue

Hi Stampers,

Today I'd like to share another card with you using the Vintage Vogue stamp set  . . . . you may notice that I've been using it a lot . . . . well the reason behind that is that it is one of the two clear mount stamp sets I have, so it's seeing lots of action. :o)

I can't wait until the next mini catalog comes out and I can order more clear mount stamps.  Did you know as a demonstrator I get to order items from the mini catalog before you?  This may not seem fair, but the reason behind it so I can get some samples to share with you by the time the sales period goes live.

If you'd like to per order too all you have to do is join the Stampin' Up! family.  Until March 31st the starter kit is even 15% off!  You can join on my demonstrator website: http://www.georgiacaulkins.stampinup.net/ call or e-mail me if you have questions/concerns. . . btw my password is glitterbees, which is also the name of my downline group.  Right now the Glitterbees family is made up of 5 demonstrators, and we'd love to have you join our family.

OK back to sample time. . . I used this card in card club this past week.  I wanted a simple card as I have new stampers in my clubs. (Hi Ladies!)  Plus I wanted to use the clear mount stamps and the jumbo wheel.  :o)  All of the supplies are listed below.

Stamp Set: Vintage Vogue (Clear); Very Vintage Jumbo Wheel
Card Stock: Whisper White; Certainly Celery; Regal Rose
