Hi Stampers,

Today I am very excited to share with you the Decor Element I put up in the baby's room a couple of days ago.  This is centered over the baby's crib, and the Whisper White really pops against the brick dust paint.

There are 4 sizes you can get dream in and they range in price from $7.95 to $14.95.  I used the large size $12.95.

Ava's Birthday Card

Hi Stampers,

Today I'd like to share with you the card I made for Ava's 4th birthday. . . as you remember a few days ago I shared with you the banner I made for Ava.  You can view that HERE.

For this card I used the new stamp set, Sweet Scoops (page 10), from the Summer Mini Catalog.  Colors used are Cameo Coral, So Saffron and Whisper White.  I also used the Eyelet Boarder Punch, a button and linen thread.

For the inside of this card I just knew I needed to use the Pop-Up Cake die, and a little Whisper White Satin Ribbon.

If you have any questions, please ask!

Medallion

Hi Stampers,

Sorry the post just keep getting shorter and shorter. . . the pregnancy is making me more tired than I thought. . . 5 days and counting until my due date.  :o)

Today I'd like to share with you another card sample from the StampAttic's meeting.

Don't you love how the Medallion stamp is embossed over the card stock?

BTW -  The retirement list comes out June 1st.  Once the list is announced accessories just fly off of the shelf, so if you have some on your wish list you'll want to place your order prior to June 1st.  Remember you can shop 24/7 at http://www.georgiacaulkins.stampinup.net/

StampAttic's Sample

Hi Stampers,

Wow . . . I can't believe I'm in my what should be last week of this pregnancy.  Yesterday my feet started to swell for the first time, and my hands started late last week.  With the 90 degree weather yesterday I guess it's to be expected.

I got a lot done this weekend, but stamping was not one of them, so today I'd like to share with you a sample from the StampAttic's meeting.

Just a reminder card club orders are in!

Happy Stamping

Ava's Banner

Hi Stampers,

I am very excited to share with you today the banner I made with my Big Shot for Ava's 4th birthday.  Ava is a girl in Blake's preschool, and she has her birthday party late this afternoon.  Blake LOVES having a banner in his room with his name on it, so I just knew I wanted to make one for Ava too.

Ava's banner was lots more fun to make than the one I did for Blake, because I got to add glitter and butterflies!

Here's a close up of one of the pennants!  Don't you just love the Whisper White Satin Ribbon?  Using Big shot dies I cut out the A, Scallop Circles, Butterfly and the Pennant.

I used my Crop-a-dile to punch holes and add Pewter Jumbo Eyelets.  See the "pearl" in the middle of the butterfly?  It's from the Pretties Kit.

Wondering how I made the pretty at the bottom???

I used Stampin' Up!'s Pretties Kit to make it too.

I hope she loves it!

Thanks for stopping by today, and if you have any questions. . . please ask!

Birth Announcement

Hi Stampers,

Even though we don't know what we are going to have yet I thought it would be fun to make some baby announcements to donate to the hospital.  First I made baby girl announcements . . . . I'm still working on the baby boy announcements, and then I need to figure out what I am going to do for our announcements.

This is a very simple card that you can change the colors to go with the baby.

Getting the Most from the Starter Kit

Hi Stampers,

Have you ever thought to yourself it would be nice to have a little extra cash, or I wish I could get my stamping supplies at a discount or even for free?  If so, now is the time to join the Stampin' Up! family!!!

Within the next few coming months Stampin' Up!'s colors are going through a big change. . . here are a few suggestions when selecting items for their Starter Kit.
Select the stamp sets and Stampin' Around wheel recommended in the current Starter Kits. Those sets will appear in the 2010-2011 Idea Book & Catalog.

Many of our colors will be discontinued as part of our exciting color renovation. You  will probably want to select ink colors that will carry over to the new catalog.

The Earth Elements and Rich Regals card stock assortments are a good choice as they are the least impacted by the color renovation. Some colors will be obsolete, but these assortments have fewer retiring colors than the Soft Subtles and Bold Brights families do.

I hope these suggestions help you feel more comfortable with their Starter Kit selections!

Remember this Special Offer!  From April 1-May 31, join Stampin' Up! as a demonstrator and receive two FREE technique DVDs (2007-2008 and 2008-2009 Workshop Wow DVDs).  I have both of these DVDs and they are packed full of awesome ideas!

Click HERE to view the start kit, and please call (343-9356) or e-mail me (georgia@mustainlaw.com) for more information and/or to join the Stampin' Up! family.

Hi Stampers,

Today I'd like to share with you another punch art sample.  This picture was taken at the last StampAttis' meeting from a swap some local demonstrators did.  Thanks for sharing ladies!!!

Can you guess all of the punches?

Just a reminder the retirement list comes out June 1st. . . . in the past punches have been included on this list.  If you'd like any accessories before the list comes out and Stampin' Up! runs out of stock, you'll want to call or e-mail me prior to June 1st.

If you have any questions, please ask...thanks for stopping by!

Baby Punch Art!

Hi Stampers and Happy Sunday!!!

I am very excited to share with you today that in just 2 short weeks my due date will be here.  The past few weeks I have been working on Rag Quilt Purses in my spare time, and now I'm thinking I need to work on my baby announcements and cleaning the house!

The doctor said she wouldn't let me go much over 7 days past my due date, so sometime within the next 3 weeks our family of 3 will be a family of 4.  I guess we also need to finish getting the nursery ready. :o)

Blake is very excited to be a big brother, and Rocky and I are very excited to have a new member in our house.

Since we're talking about babies today I'd like to share with you a card sample that I took a picture of at the last StampAttic's meeting.

This is called Punch Art, as you can create "art" using Stampin' Up!'s punches.

If you have any questions, please ask!

Thanks for stopping by today and enjoy the rest of your Sunday!

Pink Rag Quilt Purses

Hi Stampers!

As promised today I'd like to share with you three Rag Quilt Purses I made.  All three purses used the same fabric, but in a different way.  I also made a matching flower pin that you can put on the purse or on your coat.

As I mention yesterday I am getting a head start with making items for the Fall Craft Shows I participate in.  One of the items I knew I wanted to add to my booth are these cute purses, but with the baby on the way I wasn't sure how much free time I'd have when it came down to "crunch time". :o)

You'll notice that the flower is in a different square in each picture. . . as I mention above the flower is on a pin, so that you can move it to where you want it.  Below are picture of just the flower and the purse without a flower on it.

If you can't wait to get your hands on one of these cute purses they are for sale now!  Cost is $30 and that includes the removable flower.  Click HERE to view all of the purses I have done and for sale!

If none of these are your style I also can make you a custom purse. . just call (343-9356) or e-mail me (georgia@mustainlaw.com) if you'd like one.  I plan on continuing to make purses, as time permits, now and after the baby comes . . when I get them done I'll share them my blog.

Elements of Style

Hi Stampers!

Today I'd like to share with you the last card club members stamped this week!  This card was inspired by a sample I found online. . . I just changed it a bit to work for myself, and of course I had to change the colors to work with what I had on hand. :o)

This card uses the stamp set, Elements of Style, which can be found on page 12 of the Summer Mini Catalog.  I used the clear-mount set, but you can also get this set in wood-mount.

Now that we've had both clear-mount and wood-mount for a while. . . which one do you like best???  I'm leaning towards the clear-mount because of both the cost and the space it saves me. . . However, I do like wood-mount better for stamp sets with small images!

Can you see the "grid lines" on the Whisper White card stock?  To achieve this look I scored at the 1/2 inch made both vertical and horizontal. **NOTE** It is VERY important to score prior to stamping your images if you want the grid lines to appear.

BTW - Make sure to check back tomorrow as I have had my sewing machine out and going every since the May 1st make and take class. . . I have 6 very cute Rag Quilt Purses done and ready to sell at my Fall Craft Shows.  Of course if you can't wait until then you can purchase one now that I have done, or order a custom purse to fit your style! (More details tomorrow)

Builder Wheels ~ 2nd Card Sample

Hi Stampers!

Have you checked out the Summer Mini Catalog yet???  One of the new items in this mini is called Wheel Builders.  Below you'll see the second card I made using the Wheel Builders.  You can view my first card HERE.  You'll notice both cards have the same color scheme, as I still had my three cell ink cartridge inked in Melon Mambo and Rich Razzleberry.

There are 6 builder wheels to choose from in the mini.  Today I used the Posy Party, Thoughtful Friend and Bees & Blossoms builder wheels again.  (The other 3 wheels are on my wish list.)  :o)  All of the builder wheels and accessories can be found on pages 8 and 9 of the Summer Mini Catalog.

**Builder Wheel Tip**  When you are using the wheels you want to make sure you put plenty of pressure on the wheels so that all images come out clean.  If you find you have a spot that wasn't perfect that's ok. . . just cover it with a piece of card stock or ribbon. :o)

As always if you have questions, please ask!

Pun Fun - Z Fold Card

Hi Stampers!

Just a quick reminder Wednesday card club is TONIGHT!!!  I'm looking forward to seeing some of you very soon! Would you like a sneak peak of another card club card???  I wanted to make sure to give you a quick and simple card to stamp that you could make over and over again.

This card uses the Pun Fun Stamp set as well as Whisper White, Cameo Coral and So Saffron card stock.  Using Basic Black ink I stamped and then I used my Cameo Coral marker to color in the heart.  I used my Eyelet Boarder Punch along the side and stuck a piece of So Saffron card stock under it to make it "pop" out more.

Z fold cards are so easy to make. . . here is a top view of the card.  You fold the card in half as you normally would do and then take the top flap and fold it back in half.

When you adhere the Whisper White and So Saffron card stock in the middle make sure to only put adhesive on the side that attaches to the top piece of card stock. . . otherwise you'll glue your card down and you'll be writing your message on the back. :o)

If you have any questions, please ask!

Thanks for stopping by!!!

King of the Grill

Hi Stampers,

I know Father's day is still a ways off, but I'd like to share with you today a Father's day card that card club members are stamping this month.  (BTW - Tuesday card club is TONIGHT and Wednesday is TOMORROW!!!)

I also wanted to show you the Father's day card so that you could order this stamp set, King of the Grill (page 29 of the Summer Mini), and make some cards of your own.  :o)   Beside making Father's day cards this stamp set also comes with a Birthday stamp, King of the Grill stamp, and a It's a BTUtiful thing stamp.

It's been a very long time since I've used the Spotlighting Technique, and I can't wait to share this fun and easy technique with club members!

You can see I'm using a few colors that will not be around for much longer. . . Dusty Durango and Crushed Curry will retire on June 30th and will be for sale while supplies last starting June 1st.  To view the Fond Farewell Color list click HERE!  Please note that this list does not have the In Colors on there, but the In Colors that are retiring are: Dusty Durango, Crushed Curry and Bermuda Bay.

Thanks for stopping by and if you have questions, please ask!

Everyone gets one guess. There will be two winners, one in each category listed below, who will receive a Stampin’ Up! prize!

Date & Time
Length & Weight

(In the event of a tie I will have Blake draw the winner.)

Caulkins baby #2 (aka Peanut) is due on May 30th, 2010. We have decided not to find out the gender until the arrival of the baby, which is also what we did with our first child.

Below is a picture of my son, Blake, when he was born!

9lbs 9ozs and 21-1/2" long

Thanks in advance for playing . . . I can’t wait to see what you guess!!! You can leave a comment here or send me an e-mail (georgia@mustainlaw.com).

Mother's Day

Happy Mother's Day!

Today I'd like to share with you the Mother's day card I made to send out to the Mothers and Grandmothers in our families.  It is a very simple card using the new clear-mount stamp set Elements of Style (page 12) from the Summer Mini Catalog.

I also decided to use the Pale Plum ink as it is on the fond farewell list and will not be here for much longer.  BTW - did you see the update from Stampin' Up!'s home office with regards to colors on the fond farewell list?

Also I don't want you to forget that most stamp sets in the mini catalog are in both wood-mount and clear-mount!

Smooch Spritz Tips

Hi Stampers and Happy Saturday!

Today is a very exciting day for Blake as he is attending a new big brother class at the hospital where our baby will be born around May 30th.  It's also going to be a fun weekend for the whole family we had planned on going camping, but with all of the rain we've changed our mind.  I think today we'll head up to the QCA and do a little shopping!
Have you had a chance to check out the Summer Mini catalog yet???  Did you see the new Smooch Spritz???  Well today I'd like to share with you some Smooch Spritz Tips!

Smooch Spritz sell for just $4.95 and are available in four glamorous colors (Silver Foil, Log Cabin, Vanilla Shimmer and Gold Glow).  Our Smooch Spritz gives you a whole new option for adding that last eye-pleasing effect to your paper crafting projects. Adorn your scrapbook pages, chipboard, or other accents with some of our Smooch Spritz for an extra special shine.

To help you get the best results with Smooch Spritz, please follow these suggestions:

•Before each use, shake vigorously until the particles are fully mixed. The sprayer can become clogged if particles get sucked up into the tube.

•Spray in the direction of the arrow on the nozzle top. For best results, spray six to ten inches from your project. For a heavier application of color, spray closer to the project.

•The Smooch Spritz bottles are made of glass. When you use this product, place the bottle on a towel or cloth to prevent them from rolling and possibly breaking.

•If the ink dries outside of the nozzle, remove the nozzle and submerge it in a household cleaner (such as Windex or 409) for 20 minutes. Rinse, replace the nozzle, shake well, and spray.

If you have any questions, please ask!
Enjoy your weekend!

Sweet Scoops

Hi Stampers and TGIF!!!

I'm so happy it's Friday, because my family has plans to go camping this weekend!  Now I just hope I don't go into labor in the camper. . it's a little longer drive than the 5 minutes I have when I'm at home. :o)

One of the things our family likes to do when we camp is make ice cream. . . while with the weather forecast I'm not sure we'll be making ice cream this weekend I have an ice cream card to share with you.  It uses the new stamp set, Sweet Scoops (page 10), from the Summer Mini Catalog.  You can bet I got this stamp set in Clear-mount, as I love how the Clear-mount makes my stamping dollar go that much further. :o)

For this card I used the Kissing Technique to create the ice cream on top of the cone.  I can't wait to show card club members how to kiss this week at class. :o) BTW - I have a couple of spots open in both my Tuesday and Wednesday clubs. . . contact me if you'd like to check it out! (georgia@mustainlaw.com or 343-9356).

Are you wondering where I got this super cute card idea???  Well not only is the "main" catalog a wonderful idea book, but so are the mini catalogs. . . . I NEVER throw away my catalogs so that I can look at them for inspiration from time to time.  See what I mean!

All I did was change the colors to work with what I had that would be retiring in June!

If you have any questions, please ask!

Straight from the Home Office!!!

Backorders on Retiring Colors

With our recent Color Renovation announcement, we have experienced a spike--much greater than anticipated--in demand for some of our retiring colors. You may have noticed in the backorder report that a significant number of colors in both card stock and re-inkers have gone into backorder status, and we recognize the frustration this may have caused you.

You may be asking yourself: didn't Stampin' Up! anticipate increased demand on retiring colors? The quick answer is yes, we did. The long answer is a bit more complicated. We based our forecasts for these retiring colors on historical sales information for previous color transitions, as well as current buying behaviors. Obviously, even with the most careful planning, the response to a transition of this nature can surprise everyone--including you in your own business and personal purchases!

For re-inkers in retiring colors, as we run out, they will be placed on backorder status and those orders will be filled as quickly as we receive the product. We will continue to do this to the best of our ability through May, and then the re-inkers will be available while supplies last in June.

Card stock presents a bit larger problem, as the process of ordering and producing new paper from the paper mills is very involved, and we can't order significant quantities at this point in time without putting the production of the new colors in jeopardy (and we know you want those!). To help us be able to provide you with the card stock in the retiring colors for as long as possible, we will be substituting textured paper for some of the smooth colors--including card stock in 8 ½ x 11 as well as 12 x 12--where the smooth is no longer available. You will notice these colors go on backorder, and we will be filling as many of those as possible with textured card stock. Because the demand for each color varies, we are unable to provide a list of what colors of card stock will be substituted with textured, or at what point that will happen. However, if you receive a package of card stock that is textured instead of smooth, there will be a sticker on the package indicating that change. There will be no change in item code or price for these substitutions.

We realize that this is an extraordinary situation, and that this solution may not be ideal for everyone. However, we hope this will help you get the retiring colors you and your customers want for as long as possible. Please keep in mind that an instance may arise where we are unable to fill orders on a specific product, and it will become unavailable before the end of May, but those cases should be minimal, and we will communicate those situations as they may arise.

Our main goal is to serve you the best that we can, and appreciate your patience as we work through this situation.

Last Chance Lists Posting June 1

Hi Stampers,

As the debut of the 2010-2011 Idea Book & Catalog approaches, it's almost time to bid farewell to our retiring stamp sets and Definitely Decorative products, and discontinuing accessories.   On June 1st Stampin' Up! will be posting the last chance lists.  On June 1st you can view the list on my website at http://www.georgiacaulkins.stampinup.net/ or when I get in I will e-mail the list to those on my e-mail list as well as post it here on my blog.

On the right side of this page is the link for the Fond Farewell ink color list . . . it's a pretty safe bet that any accessory with one of those colors will be on the last chance list.  Once the last chance lists are released items tend to fly off the shelves, so if there is something you'd really like I would like to encourage you to order it now and not wait until June 1st.

Please note in the past since Stampin' Up! manufactures their own stamp sets have continued production of those sets until all orders are filled.

Ok . . it's stamp time now. . .

Since it's national scrapbooking month today's sample is a 8x8 scrapbook page I pulled from my demo website.

Today I'd like to share with you a set of the scrapbook pages we made at The Well this past weekend.

This two set layout uses the build-a-bear stamp set, and the Designer Series Paper is from the Simply Scrapbook kit, Sunny Day.

I used my Big Shot to cut out the letters for Party and my markers to color in the little bears.  The ribbon is Old Olive Satin Ribbon, which I just LOVE!

Here is Cindy and Amanda hard at work!

Here are some of the ladies Rag Quilt Purses.  The first one is Jessica's purse.

Cindy was the only one who got her purse edges snipped. . . the rest of the ladies are going to snip their's at home.
