Stampin’ Up! has announced Phase 3 of their Decor Elements. If you are not familiar with Decor Elements, simply said they are vinyl rub ons for your walls. They are removable, but not reusable. Stampin' Up! manfuctures the Decor Elements at their plant in Riverton, Utah. They are really expanding and will even be getting into custom Decor Elements soon!

As before most of the images come in three sizes, Small, Medium and Large! The catalog has the actual measurements for each image, so you can measure before you order. The picture below shows the new Tree, Thoughs & Prayer and the Direction of Your Dreams images.
Next photo is the Popcorn image. To ensure precise placement when applying Decor Elements to rounded surfaces, trim the transfer sheet so the image has a 1" border and notch the bottom edge at 1/4" intervals. Then start at the middle of the image and rub out!

This next images I’m showing you is my favorite. It’s called Shelf Life! Finally plants that look great and don’t need to be watered! SU also has a cute set of Stemware glasses!
Now you can use SU’s images to create a magical scene. Simple or elaborate, it’s up to you. Don’t miss the coordinating Build-a-Fairytale in the 2009-Spring-Summer Idea Book & Catalog (page 181).

Enter Fairyland

And the final thing in the Decor Elements brochure is Decor STENCILS!!! We’re delighted to introduce a new Definitely Decorative product - Decor Stencils! Stencils are an exciting new complement to our Decor Elements Vinyl line. You can use them on walls, frames, pillows and more! With out stencils, you can create custom pieces quickly and easily. Some stencils layer and coordinate with vinyl pieces; others work alone. Either way, using stencils will provide amazing results!

The images shown here is called: Flowing Flowers (116574 - $27.95)

How to Use Stencils. . . .
Step 1: Adhere the stencil in place with painter’s tape
Step 2: Fill in the image with acrylic or stencil paint. For a softer look, dab on the color with a sponge or stencil brush.
Step 3: remove the stencil and admire the results!

Thanks for stopping by and make sure to come back tomorrow. . . I'll have more new stuff to share with you!

The New Stampin' Up! Catalog. . . . Get Ready!

Hello Stampers!

OMGoodness the UPS guy bought me a gift, and it was the NEW 2009 Spring Summer Catalog!!! It has 208 pages of stamp, products and SAMPLES to inspire you!!! Included in the 208 pages are 10 pages of Big Shot products.

If you do not have the Big Shot Die Cut Machine you’ll want one after you see this catalog. (Remember I’m starting new Big Shot Clubs now. For just 4 payments of $54.95 you will receive the Big Shot Starter Kit! Contact me for more information or to join!)

Today’s post is about the fabulous new Big Shot items. The newest Bigz XL die that is on my must have list it the Exclusive Stampin’ Up! Movers & Shapers Curly Label Die, which is designed to coordinate with the Curly Label Punch Bundle. You can use the coordinating die, punch and stamp set to create exciting and unified projects. A grid on the inside of the die ensures exact placement!

ALSO we now carry a line of the Bigz Clear Dies. They are rule-based dies measuring 5-1/2" x 6" that cut through various materials such as paper, plastic, and chipboard.

AND of course we now have more Bigz Dies. . . Remember the butterfly on the front of the Fall/Winter 2008 catalog. . . guess what??? We now have a die called Beautiful Butterflies that is exclusive to Stampin’ Up! and that you can use to recreate the pretty butterfly!

I have been flipping through the catalog as I type this, and we also have new decorative strips, original dies and a bunch of new sizzlits dies. These are the small wafer thin dies. There is a 4-pack of sizzlits dies that is call Big Bold Cupcakes and guess what??? It coordinates with the stamp set Big Bold Birthday! AND. . . yes ladies there is more!!! They have an exclusive SU set called Lots of Tags. Trust me this will be on your wish list for sure! The best then about the sizzlits 4-pack dies is that when you purchase one you’ll instantly have a variety of coordinating images. It’s simple to create projects that are fun, versatile, and coordinating!

I'm telling you this catalog is gonna break my bank. . there are so many items that I just have to have. Thank goodness as a demonstrator I get a discount on everything I order. . . AND you can too! If you're ready for a continual SU discount now is a great time to join the family! As I've mention before SU is in it's 20th year and going strong!

The last two pages of the Big Shot section are the Embosslits Dies and the Texturz Plates! The Embosslits dies measure 2-1/4" x 2 ½". These chemically etched dies include a positive and negative image that allows simultaneous cutting and embossing, Embosslits cut through card stock and Designer Series paper. The Texturz Plates create subtle patterns and designs on thin surfaces, giving your project the perfect embossed background. Set of 3 double sided plates offer 6 unique and exciting options. You’ll use these plates with the Multipurpose Platform, Impressions Pad, and Silicone Rubber (sold separately). The Stampin’ UP! Backgrounds #1 are on my wish list too!!! I hope they will also be on my 1st order I’m placing Monday morning!!!

**SALE** The new products will be online first thing Monday, January 19th! If you have to time check them out please do. Otherwise, I do have a few catalogs at my house if you’d like to stop by and look at the real thing, just call! Anyway . . the reason why I’m say this is that I’m going to offering 10% off all orders received by 11:00AM on Monday, January 19th! Please note to receive this discount you must e-mail or call me with your order prior to 11:00AM at 11:01AM on Monday I am going to place my 1st order from the new catalog!

OK . . back to stamping. . I've been talking so much about the new products SU has for the Big Shot that I just have to show you a couple of samples. Both of these samples were made using the Sweetest Stem Embosslit Die. As I mention before these chemically etched dies include a positive and negative image that allows simultaneous cutting and embossing!

First I wanted to show you a close up of what your card stock looks like after you use the Embosslit Die. As you can see the image was both embossed and cut out!
Now onto the card!!! Both of the cards shown here today were designed by my up up line Julie S. Thanks for letting me make these cards Julie. I had so much Fun!!!

Thanks for stopping by today, and make sure to check back tomorrow. I have details of the Phase 3 Decor Elements I'd like to share with you, as well as two exciting new one time purchase Divy Clubs with the new Ribbons, Brads & Buttons!

Flight of the Butterfly

Hello Stampers!

As you know the new catalog starts next Monday, January 19th. As you can guess I have been stalking the UPS driver and I am ready for him to deliver the catalogs I preordered back in November. Stampin' Up! said I will have them in time, so that should mean Friday at the latest. . . I really hope it's sooner than later, but only the UPS driver will know for sure!

I have another case card to show you today. The card shown below is a card I received by swapping last year at convention. I just loved it, so I decided to CASE it.

Here's my card (shown below). As you can see I changed the base of the card from Pacific Point to Kiwi Kiss. I also stamped the phrase in Pacific Point instead of Basic Black.

The stamp set used is: Flight of the Butterfly. Other colors used was Baja Breeze. Accessories included the Small Oval Punch, Crafters Tool Kit, Gold Brad and Stamp-a-ma-jig.

Have you ever used the Stamp-a-ma-jig? It is a wonderful and simple tool that I don't know why it took me so long to purchase it. I have been a demo since January of 2005 and just this past summer purchased it.

This is the perfect tool to keep you from ever ruining a whole project with one crooked stamp! The stamp positioner gives you the ability to place an image exactly where you want it, every time.

Features & Benefits
  • Allows for fast and precise stamp placements
  • Perfect for word and letter stamps
  • Sturdy plastic construction
  • Includes washable plastic sheet
  • Nonskid base
  • Includes instructions

Thanks for taking the time to stop by today, and make sure to check back with me tomorrow!

Dreams du jour!

Hello Stampers and Happy Monday to you!!!

Today's sample is a case of a card I swapped for at convention. The only change I made from the original card I received was instead of using Kiwi Kiss card stock I used Certainly Celery. The only reason I made that change, was that I didn't have enough Kiwi Kiss card stock.

Stamp Set: Dreams du Jour

Card Stock & Ink: Pink Pirouette, Riding Hood Red, Certainly Celery, Whisper White and Bella Rose DSP

Accessories: Scallop Edge Punch, Liquid Glue and Dazzling Diamonds

As I'm sure you can guess this card was super easy and quick to put together. Perfect for any skilled stamper.

If you're wondering today's post is short, because I have a million things to do today!

Thanks for stopping by today. . . make sure you visit me again!

Stamping "Green"

Hello Stampers!

These days, everywhere you turn, people are "going green" and putting into practice ideas that can make a difference in the environment and conserve energy. But what is Stampin' Up! doing to "go green"?

Rubber
Rather than dumping the excess rubber in a landfill, Stampin' Up! donate it to Courage Reins, a nonprofit organization that provides horseback riding therapy for physically or mentally challenged children. They take the ground rubber and sell it to groups and individuals for use in playgrounds and hose stables. The money they receive from the sale of this rubber goes to fund their program.

There is even a park in Kanab, Utah, where the Stampin' Up! production facility is located. Shelli Gardner and her husband donated the money to build the park, and they also used rubber scraps to create the bedding material under the play equipment. You can actually walk around on the super-spongy playground and find pieces of old stamp sets.

Wood Blocks
The wood blocks are not only created from a renewable resource, they engage in a sustainable practice to get those wood blocks. Stampin' Up! works with a tree farm in which the maple trees are grown specifically for the purpose of harvesting wood!

Card Stock and Paper
You might be aware that the paper we use for shipping is 100% recycled. But did you know that the card stock includes recycled material? It's true! Stampin' Up!'s card stock includes recycled paper that's left over from other paper runs, which would otherwise end up in a landfill. The darker the color of card stock, the more recycled material is in the card stock. (Who would have thought that Basic Black was the greenest color?)

In addition, Stampin' Up! works with a paper broker who ensures that the mills used for the Designer Series Paper and Card Stock engage in environmentally friendly practice. The paper comes from sustainably managed forest and mills that are taking steps to lessen their carbon footprint. One of the mills even generates its own power!

Stampin' Up!'s Buildings
They are very fortunate to have wonderful facilities at Stampin' Up! that help reduce their environmental impact. First, systems in both the Riverton and Kanab buildings filter and pollutants that may result from stamp production. Second, the buildings were designed with energy conservation in mind. Both building have geothermal wells, which help maintain building temperature, cutting down one the use of heating oil or natural gas. In addition, all lights are on sensors and timers, so they don't waste electricity when employees are away from the office.

In the desert climate in Utah, it's also extremely important that they watch their water use. For this reason, they've incorporated native, water-wise plants in their landscaping. If you ever visited the home office, you will notice that they have wildflowers growing in front of the building instead of grass! Their sprinkler system is timed to minimize evaporation, which helps reduce the amount of water they use to maintain their landscape. Indoors, artificial plants mingle in with the live ones in the area around their atrium water feature. This allows them to have a lush garden while minimizing the amount of water they use.

Carbon Footprints
At Stampin' Up!, they strive to reduce their carbon footprints as much as possible. This means that they try to engage in shipping practices that will require fewer greenhouse gases, such as carbon dioxide, to be released into the atmosphere. First, UPS picks up shipments from the Distribution Center each day during nonpeak traffic hours. This cuts down the amount of gasoline UPS needs to use to get our orders out the door.

For stamp shipments from Kanab to Riverton, they "carpool" with companies who are sending shipments from the Salt Lake City area to Kanab. For example, Sysco delivers food to Kanab and surrounding towns and, normally, their trucks would be return empty to Salt Lake City. Instead of driving back without cargo, Sysco trucks bring stamps from Kanab to Riverton!

One of the guiding principles at Stampin' Up! is change, and with that principal in mind, they are always looking for ways to improve their business practices to do what's right for our demonstrators, employees, community, and environment.

Of course, today's sample had to be a "green card".

Happy Heart Day

Hello Stampers,

Today's sample is a card I made using the Happy Heart Day Stamp Set. It's a very simple card to do that would be easy to make a bunch of.

The card stock I used is Basic Gray, Regal Rose and Whisper White. I used the stamp set Happy Heart Day and then used my markers to color. The butterfly was stamped with VersaMark and the ribbon is just adhered onto the card stock.

That's all for today. . I've had a crazy week and I'm ready for some R&R. . . how about you?

Have a wonderful weekend!

It's Official!!!

OK Ladies . . . I just got on the demo SU website and it's official . . . we will be getting Digital Scrapbooking. Sometime this year, Stampin' Up! will release our own digital scrapbooking software--My Digital Studio. This software is much more than a scrapbooking solution--you'll be able to create digital projects beyond scrapbooks.

At the heart of this new product is our own exclusive artwork, some of the highest-quality artwork in the market. That alone will differentiate us from competitive products. Initially, My Digital Studio will feature several thousand of our images and a selection of Stampin' Up! colors. It will only get better as we move forward! New items will become available as the product is updated on a regular basis.

"Without going into detail--because we haven't nailed it down yet--we are committed to keeping this product affordable and competitive with other products on the market."

Watch for more information in the coming months.
I am so excited about this. . . how about you?

Hodgepodge Hardware

Hello Stampers!

Today I am very excited to share with you two cards that are Georgia Original Designs!!! I'm always so excited to show you projects, but I'm always more excited when it's a card or project I designed myself.

I have 2 versions of the cards to show you today.

The picture above was my original card. I used Regal Rose, Very Vanilla and Pink Pirouette Card Stock. I also used a piece from the Styled Vanilla Hodgepodge Hardware that is part of the Inventory Blowout until January 18th. Please note that Stampin' Up! has limited quantities at the reduced price of $22.49, so you'll want to order yours before it's to late. You can shop online at: http://www.georgiacaulkins.stampinup.net/ and see the whole Inventory Blowout list under the specials.

The stamps sets I used are Upsy Daisy and Warm Words.

When I started to cut card stock for my card club, which was last night, I realized I didn't have enough of the Regal Rose Card Stock. :o( Above is the card that I altered to make it work with the supplies I had on hand. As you can see the card stock is now Pink Pirouette and Very Vanilla. I still stamped in Regal Rose, because I liked the color.

Which card do you like better?

Besides a card swap today I have exciting news to share with you. Right now Stampin' Up! is holding a leadership event in Florida. I wish I was there, and I could tell you this information first hand, but I still want to share a few things. Please note that I have not received an official notification from Stampin' Up! about anything listed below so the information may not be 100% accurate. As soon as I get updates I'll pass them along.

If you would NOT like to learn more about what is in the future for Stampin' Up! as well as information relating to the new catalog, which will be released on January 19th, please stop reading! Otherwise, please read on and leave me a comment. I'd love to hear what you think!

Last Chance. . . if you do not want to know about new Stampin' Up! products.. do not read on...

***The BIG EXCITING NEWS at leadership was that Stampin' Up! has developed it's own Digital Scrapbooking program that will be available sometime later this year!

A few new things from the catalog....
  • 14 new Designer Series Paper with a couple great manly color combos
  • 5 new Simply Scrappin' Kits
  • Rub-ons with 4 colors in one kit
  • Flower brads in Pumpkin Pie, Pretty in Pink, Chocolate Chip and So Saffron
  • Jumbo Brads.. love them.. 5/16" and 5/8" in Choc. Chip, White, Vanilla and Silver
  • Clear Rhinestone brads (like the ones in the Pretties Kit) sold in a pack by themselves
  • new border punch that looks like lace
  • new circle cutter
  • Lots of exclusive Big Shot dies!
  • More sizzlets and embosslits!!
  • TEXTURE PLATES for the Big Shot 12 exclusive SU! designs and 12 Sizzix designs
  • stencils from the new Decor Elements line
  • And I can't forget NEW STAMP SETS!!!

And I know you're dying to see the new book . . right? I know I'm stalking my UPS driver for my copy. Ok. . .here's what the new books look like. Please note that only demos who attended leadership received a spiral copy. In the past I've went to Staples and had them bind my catalog. I think it was around $6, but you should double check if you want to have it done.

So what do you think? Are you excited??? I am . . and I'd love to share some excitment with you. If you'd like to book a workshop with me you'll receive a copy of the catalog for FREE! Under the Stars

Hello Stampers,

I am so excited about today's post, because I am using one of the stamp sets I received for Christmas. I just love getting Stampin' Up! supplies in my stocking. How about you? I have been wanting the stamp set Under the Stars for a very long time. Britni, a member in my downline, set me a wonderful card months ago that I have been wanting to case, but could not because I didn't have the stamp set.

Well I finally got Under the Stars for Christmas (Thanks Dad!), and this was the first card I cased. Thanks for the inspiration Britni.

First I'll show you Britni's card:

Britni used Green Galore, Gable Green, Brilliant Blue and Whisper White Card stock. She stamped the bear in brown. I'm guessing Chocolate Chip to match the 5/8" Chocolate Chip Ribbon. As you can see in the photo she also used Hemp Twine and tied it with the Chocolate Chip Ribbon. Britni Used markers to color in her bear and finished by applying ink directly to the Whisper White Card Stock. (Britni - if I explained anything wrong please leave a comment to set the record straight. Thanks!)

Now here is my card:

For my card I also used Green Galore, Gable Green and Whisper White card stock. I got my color coach out and it told me to try Tempting Turquoise as a coordinating color. I thought changing the color was a nice way to make it more of my own. :o) I also left out the hemp twine. This was because I did not have enough hemp twine. (Note to self . . need to order more hemp . . twine that is!)

Instead of using my markers I drug out my Water Color Pencils and used my Aqua Painter to soften the color. I stamped my bear in my Basic Brown ink pad, so the ink would not run when I used my aqua painter.

The final change I made was I used my Distresser from the Cutters Kit to distress all of layers including the bottom edge of my card. I think you can see it best on the Whisper White layer, but that could also be because I also used my ink pad directly against my card stock to add some color.

What do you think? Card club members you will be making this card at January's meeting . . . Thursday club members. . . you'll be making it TONIGHT!!! See you at 6:30 p.m.

Happy Stamping!

Gift Sack Scrapbook!!

Hello Stampers,

Last night I had a fun night stamping at my Upline's home. Kathy had an AWESOME project for me to make, and I'm so excited to share it with you today. It was a scrapbook made out of two gift sacks. You can bet I couldn't wait to show it to you. (Britni . . this will be your bonus project for having over $1K in sales. . . Good Job!!)

I'm thinking about offering this as a class. Please leave me a comment or send me an e-mail if you'd be interested in attending a class to make your own Gift Sack Scrapbook. When I have more time I'll figure up the cost and set a price. . then set a date. (Please note you are not signing up to attend this class by sending me an e-mail or leaving a comment. I just want to make sure there is enough interest before I proceed with planning a class. Thanks!)

As you can guess the Kiwi Kiss card stock is where you would place your photos above. I think black and white or sepia photos would look wonderful.

The Pink Pirouette card stock (on left) pulls out of the pocket. It's hard to tell it's a pocket from this photo, but if you look close you might just see the Rhinestone Brads that hold the top of the pocket in place.

You can easily slip a photo under the Satin Kiwi Kiss Ribbon. Also . . look close and you'll see a Rub On on the bottom right corner of the right page.

Of course I wanted to show you a photo looking down, so you can see that the gift sacks were binded using metal rings with ribbon tied to them.

I will have to play with this project a bit before I'm ready to offer it in my own class, but most of it will be the same. I'm thinking a little ribbon on the handles would be nice, and I may replace a few of the rub ons with stamping . . . You know what they say, "It's not a good day unless you get ink on your fingers." Right? :o)

I'm so looking forward to your comments and e-mails. If you have any suggestion or questions, please ask!

Have a GREAT day!

Sometimes popular items are "retired" in their current packaging or style to come back with improved packaging or added product features. This year, no accessories are being reconfigured.

If you want the products as shown in the Fall-Winter 2008 Idea Book & Catalog, now is the time to purchase them.

Target Mail Boxes

Hello Stampers!

Last week I got some little mail boxes from the $1 spot in Target. I was very excited when I found them this year, because they are offering more colors than last year. While I have not had time to play with my new mail boxes I still wanted to show you what I did last year.

I used Stampin' Up!'s Rub Ons to decorate the mail boxes.

As you can see the White and Chocolate Chip both looked great!

Another fun way to decorate would be to wrap designer paper around the mail box. I think it really dresses them up.

How would you decorate a mail box?

I can't wait to hear your suggestions!

Inspired by Nature

Hello Stampers. . .

Before I get started I need to wish my husband a Very Happy Birthday. . . just incase he checks out my blog this morning! Happy 29th Birthday Rocky!!!

OK. . now onto stamping.

Today's card is the final card the ladies got to make on Saturday. We broke out the Big Shot and the Inspired by Nature stamp set.

Colors used are Baja Breeze, Certainly Celery and Whisper White. To finish the card we used a Pewter Jumbo Eyelet and the Crop-a-Dile to set it in place. As I mention above we used the Big Shot and the Top Note Die is the die we used on the Whisper White Card Stock.

Thanks for Stopping by today!

Enjoy Every Moment

Hello Stampers and Happy Sunday!

I was looking through some card swaps I received at convention and found one that I knew I wanted to use. At convention I was in a special Track 6 swap with other SCS members. The card shown below was made by Traci Gentry, which I received in this swap.

I knew I wanted to use this card in my next make and take class, but I also knew I wanted to change it just a bit. I used the same colors Traci used, which are: Old Olive, Taken with Teal, Chocolate Chip and Whisper White.

I stepped it up a bit by using a Pewter Build-a-Brad and using the distresser from the cutter kit around the Whisper White and Taken with Teal Card Stock. Taken with Teal is a color I don't use very often, so I'm very happy when I have a chance to play with it. Here is the card the ladies made yesterday. What do you think?

I also tied my ribbon a bit differently. I tied it in a knot and then attached it with a Mini Glue Dot and cut my ends pretty.

It was a very quick and easy card to make. Oh. . . I should also mention I used the stamp set Enjoy Every Moment (113622 $31.95).

Thanks for stopping by today . . . See you Monday!

*L*O*V*E* Big Shot Banner

Hello Stampers!

As promised today I am sharing the Fabric Pennant Big Shot Banner I made on New Years Day. Rocky and I were blessed and had some friends come over on New Years Eve to play cards! And even luckier when Justin and Britni decided they didn't want to drive back to Seaton so they stayed the night. After breakfast Britni (who is also a member of my downline) (Hi Britni!) and I decided to go to JoAnns and get fabric to make a pennant banner.

Since Valentine's day isn't to far off we decided to make a love banner. Besides Valentine's Day you can use a love banner for lots of other occasions. I'm thinking, Wedding Showers, Baby Showers, Anniversary Parties, birthdays or any reason where you might feel love.

Britni and I found some really cute material to make our banners from. We even made our banners just a bit different.

First here is a photo of my completed LOVE Banner. I'm not sure where I'm going to hang it yet, so the photo was just taken on a table. What do you think of my banner?

This next photo below is a close up picture of Britni's banner. Britni found this really cute and fun dark pink fabric to layer as the second scallop under the L.

I want to mention a quick tip before I go any further! When cutting letters using your Serif Essentials Sizzix Dies make sure you lay your material face down!!! Meaning the side you want to show in your finished project is against the die. Otherwise it might take you 3 times before you get your L to look like a L and not a backwards L! Right Britni . . . :o)

OK . . now this next picture (shown below) is how my banner looks. I decided to use a solid red fabric as the second layer under the L. Oh. . . quick story about me. . . when making a LOVE banner you don't need any J letters. That was the first letter I cut out for myself, because when Britni and I were making our banners we had my JOY banner out as an example. :o)

Besides the second scallop layer under our L both banners looked the pretty much the same. These banners were so quick and fun to make that I'm ready to do it again!

If you would like to make your own LOVE banner here is what supplies you'll need: Big Shot Die-Cut Machine; Pennant Bigz XL Die; Serif Essentials Dies; Scallop Circle Die; Scallop Circle #2 Die; Extended and Standard Cutting Pads and Non - SU fabric and Quick Dry "Tacky" Glue.

With the New Year I've decided to offer the Big Shot Club again! Would you like to learn more about the Big Shot? If so, please ask! Basically my Big Shot Club is a layaway plan for purchasing the Big Shot Starter Kit. I know $195.95 is a big hit for any stampers budget, so with my Big Shot club you get to make 4 monthly payments and then after the 4th payment is made you'll receive the Big Shot Special Edition Starter Kit, a level 1 hostess set and a pack of assorted card stock to get you started. All for 4 monthly payments of $55.95, which includes shipping and tax.

Each month you'll also have the option to come to my house and make a special project using my big shot. If you are in one of my card clubs, which already meet at my house, you'll make your special project that same night. If you're not in my club you will be able to choose from the 2nd Tuesday or 2nd Thursday or 3rd Wednesday of the month to come and make your Big Shot project.

If you are interested in learning more, or joining the club please ask!!! Since we don't have to wait for others to sign up to join this club the club will start when you're ready. Payments for the club are due the 20th of each month.

Thanks for stopping by today and I'll be back for more fun tomorrow!

Happy Heart Day

Good Morning Stampers!

Yesterday I showed you a card that I cased, so today I wanted to show you a card that was a Georgia Original! This is also a card that the ladies who are attending my make and take class tomorrow will be stamping.

**QUICK NOTE**
If you have registered for tomorrows class, please bring your scissors and choice of adhesive. Thanks!

OK . . . now back to stamping! As I said this is a card that I came up with myself. That is always a good feeling. :o) I used the stamp set Happy Heart Day (111089 $20.95).

Colors used are Riding Hood Red, Kiwi Kiss and Whisper White. I used my aqua painter and ink pads to color in the images, which I stamped in Basic Black. The Small and Large Tag Punches worked perfect to punch out and layer the Happy Valentine's Day tag. I used the Scallop Edge punch along the bottom of the card and layered a piece of Whisper White card stock to make the scallop edge pop out. Otherwise, I think it would have gotten lost in the Riding Hood Red.

Finally, I used the paper piercer from my crafters tool kit to punch a hole for the gold brad and the ribbon is the Riding Hood Red Stripped Ribbon . . . of course!

Well I think that pretty well covers this card. Thank you for looking and if you have any questions, please ask!

Happy Stamping!

Georgia

p.s. Make sure to check out my blog tomorrow for a new Fabric Pennant Banner I made on New Years Day using my Big Shot!

Close as a Memory

Hello Stampers and HAPPY 2009!!!

When I saw StephStamps1982 card made from Close as a Memory I knew I had to show you, so I totally CASE it! What does CASE mean? Copy And Share Everything!

I get a lot of my inspiration from the SU website and other demonstrators. My #2 website to visit is http://www.splitcoaststampers.com/ (SCS). Can you guess what my #1 website is? Well it's the demo only side of the Stampin' Up! website. Between these two website I never have to 100% come up with an idea on my own if I don't want to. I enjoy spending time looking at what other stampers have created and I totally enjoy casing thier ideas.

Most of the time I change the project just a bit. Usually because I don't have a stamp set they used. Other times I take two or three cards and case a little on each one to make one new card.

As I mention before I cased this card from StephStamps1982 on SCS. And this is a card that the ladies who attend my Saturday make and take class at the well are going to make. Haven't registered for the class yet? Call me (221-9288) to see if there is still room!

Colors used are: Bravo Burgundy, Always Artichoke, So Safron and Very Vanilla. Stamp sets used are: Close as a Memory and Canvas, please note Canvas is retiring, so if it's on your list you'll need to order by January 18th!

I used my markers to color directly onto the stamp set prior to stamping on the card stock. When you do this technique make sure to huff on the stamp after you color and before you stamp. To get the so saffron color in the middle of the flowers I colored onto the card stock after stamping the image.

Here is a close up so you can see the canvas stamp. I used the So Saffron ink and card stock. To help protect my ink pad I used my brayer to transfer the ink from the pad to the stamp.

Thanks for stopping by today!
